ilse media web design and brand building
The Dutch agency KesselsKramer created a strong branding for the internet publisher ilse media. Being responsible for the brand in the board of ilse, my aim was to translate the Manga style of the 'ilse' character into an recognizable and appealing online presence. For the portal homepage www.ilse.nl and the theme channels like travel, music, kids, cars, etc. ilse media was sold to VNU publishers in 2002 and ended as Sanoma Digital, still the largest online publisher in the Netherlands in 2010.

The search result page of the second generation of ilse.nl, in collaboration with Olaf van Haarlem.
For a special 'Dutch pink day' a unique color version was used to enhance the cooperation of ilse media.
The theme site for books uses theme based illustrations of the ilse character, designed by Christian Borstlap,

End of 2002 a new design for ilse.nl was created. A cleaner design incorporating ilse assets and resulting into a strong portal containing all the basic information for the customer: search, search guides by topic and lots of entertainment and mobile goodies.

Ilse Games design.

For our office building in Eindhoven a striking light sign was designed to promote ilse in the city where the start-up was founded. Intentionally I left out the brand name and focussed on the face of the girl. As a counterpart to all the logo based light signs in the rest of downtown Eindhoven.
By using special printing technique whereby the back of the sign blocked out the light, the key features of the ilse face were accentuated. The eyes were extra lit by using neon. The production was done by Best Image.
